With 3D printing, rapid prototyping, 3-D growing, the quality is nothing less than amazing.
We all gravitate to our preferences.

Every year i have my own personal “kit of the year” list.
Last year’s was TimeSlips’ Battlestar Galactica (original).
This years kit is AJAModels’ 1/48th scale “Aries” from “2001: A Space Odyssey”.
It’s one of the nicest kits I’ve ever seen, not a bubble in site, every detail sharp and clean, and accurate? you bet!
it looks like an injection molded kit,
it even has retractable landing gear,
it’s 10 inches across making it a perfect size for the shelf.
not too big, not too small.
he’s working on the interior right now that will be sold separately.
I had the pleasure of meeting Adam Johnson a couple of weeks ago and he brought the kits for me to see (or drool over).
He has a wealth of information on 2001.
His father was a teacher who knew (and taught) Lawrence G. Paul, who was the Production Designer of Blade Runner.
Since they were good friends, his father asked Lawrence if he had any information on 2001, or, where to get it;
Adam has spent over 30 years researching the science of 2001.
Needless to say he got it, making this is the most accurate version of the kit to date and well worth the $325 price tag.

I’ve recently received this wealth of reference material, from someone who was kind enough to send me copies of the original blueprints and a disc with over 400 pictures. He took the time to print them the actual size i’m doing it in, (which is studio scale , 15.5″ long).
I just received the foam to carve out the main shape. I haven’t started it yet because I’ve been busy doing side projects. (gotta pay the bills!)
Here’s the new drawings of the spinner. My good friend Clark Schaffer is going to sculpt and sell the figures for it.
i started work on the pattern here it is so far.
hopefully I’ll have more pics at the end of the week.

Orders don’t normally get insurance when they are shipped. In 3.5 years only one package has been damaged in transit (none lost). If you want insurance you have to request it. That request MUST be included in the PayPal invoice (the notes area when you are submitting your payment). It’s the ONLY way to insure that this request will be fulfilled. In fact, any specific shipping instructions should be included in the PayPal notes area.

i can’t find them in ANY of my order folders!
A lot of you have seen (or bought) the 15″ Delorian that “Diamond select” has released.
Diamond select used the same pattern as the 1/18 Sunstar Delorian.
i took the BTTF II and retailed it from the wiring detail to the interior detail.
i repainted it with model masters stainless steel, then lightly sanded it with fine steel wool.
i also re-did the lighting to get more of an even flow .
so here it is…(you will notice on some of these pics the car isn’t finished).
I now have enough people interested in the Johnny Quest plane to take orders .
I’m contacting all the people on to see if they still want it.
It’s 24″ long and i’m selling the kit for 175 dollars.
